I don't track you. Period.
No analytics. No advertising or tracking cookies. No social-media pixels, no third-party embeds, no fingerprinting. Even the fonts are served from this website, so your visit isn't reported to Google or anyone else. That's why there is no cookie banner: there's nothing to consent to.
Who is responsible

Cookies: only the strictly necessary
pf-lang remembers whether you chose English or Dutch, so the site opens in your language next time. It is only set when you click the language switch, holds nothing but "en" or "nl", and expires after one year.
Technical security cookies (to protect forms against cross-site request forgery) and sign-in cookies for the administration area. Visitors who don't log in never receive the sign-in cookies.
None of these cookies are used to recognise, profile or follow you, and none are shared with anyone.
When you contact me
If you email me or send a message through a contact form, I receive your name, email address and whatever you write. I use this only to reply and, if we end up working together, to prepare that collaboration. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in answering questions (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
Messages sent through a contact form are deleted automatically 30 days after I've read them. The only exception is a message I explicitly keep because it leads to an assignment; that one is kept as part of our business correspondence for as long as needed. Your data is never sold, never used for marketing and never shared, except where the law requires it.
Server logs
Like any web server, this one records technical request data (time, requested page, response status and the technical details your browser sends, which can include your IP address). These logs are used only to keep the site secure and working, are never combined with other data, and are kept no longer than needed for that purpose.
Where the data lives
This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the West Europe region (the Netherlands). Microsoft acts as a processor under the EU standard contractual terms; your data stays within the European Union.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format. Email robin@vangijseghem.be and I will respond within one month.
If you're not satisfied with how I handle your request, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
